Laurf!

Funny story to share: I was at work, dutifully manning my post behind the desk when a woman came in, three children in tow. She proceeded to ask my colleague some questions regarding swimming lessons. Unfortunately one of her three children was not happy to sit tight for a few moments and insisted on wandering off. Throughout her enquiry she would have to interrupt to beckon the straying child back from the automatic gates he found so amusing. With a very stern "Sam! Saaa-am come here this instant!" the nagging stern-ness of which every mum is an expert proved only momentarily successful. In the same reproachful tone the mum called out to her son just as the next person, a handsome twenty-something walked in. Approaching the desk he stopped, wide-eyed and dead in his tracks. The look of shock and bewilderment on his face sent all of us into fits of giggles as he informed us that his name was Sam! (Obviously wondering what on earth he'd done wrong and how this mum knew his name, he quickly realized the blonde little boy next to him was the reason for the confusion.) The poor mum turned bright red and we all had a good chuckle about the funny coincidence. It's moments like that when the tedium of the hourly-wage day-job sometimes feels worth it.
